Every deck of a car park structure faces a different set of challenges, from de-icing salts and UV exposure on the top deck to constant tyre scrub and oil contamination on the lower and intermediate decks, so we specify the correct system for each specific environment rather than a one-size-fits-all coating.

Our high-tech resin systems can be applied over concrete and asphalt substrates as well as polymer-modified cementitious screeds, giving excellent slip resistance, chemical resistance, wear resistance and a UV-stable finish that will not fade or discolour under direct sunlight. We also offer a full range of colours, allowing us to clearly define parking bays, pedestrian walkways and traffic aisles for improved safety and wayfinding throughout the structure.

Car park decks are also frequently exposed to water ingress, and our liquid roofing and waterproofing systems provide a long-lasting, flexible solution ideal for covering top decks, whether that’s an older concrete structure in need of refurbishment or a newly built car park. Where issues do arise, our team can also carry out emergency repairs quickly to minimise disruption to drivers and pedestrians.

Before any coating is applied, our teams carry out thorough mechanical floor preparation using diamond grinding, scabbling and shot-blasting equipment, with vacuum-attached machinery that removes around 95% of dust as we work. This keeps the structure clean and safe to use while preparation is underway, and ensures the very best mechanical key for a long-lasting finish.

I have recently had the opportunity to work with Optimum Flooring as part of an intense project for a client I was supporting Project Managing the setup of a new manufacturing plant. From the outset the quality of service from their initial quotation process right through to the completion of the installaton I can only rate as first class!

The project was at times extremely challenging due to associated complex technicalities which on several occasions resulted in requesting Optimum Flooring to realign their schedule to meet my clients demands. They were not only truly professional in their overall involvement with the project, but their quality of work was superb. Their team arrived on time and delivered as planned and had at all times a senior supervisor on site to oversee the activity.
