Description
Our first job here was to prepare the floor area to remove the existing old worn coating and to provide a mechanical key for the new system, we did this by grinding using a three-phase mechanical grinding machine with a fitted vacuum attachment to minimise airborne dust. Once our team had mechanically prepared the floor we filled in all existing bolt holes as per Sika’s recommendation.
Project Scope
- The floor area is 670m2 and within this area there were 6 rectangles where a reenforced slab had been installed to take the weight of machines that were in use previously.
- Our team and Sika decided that the best way to approach this issue was to bury any joints, first the surrounding area would be primed, then a 10mm backer rod would be inserted into the joint, followed by Sikafloor 305W finished flush with the existing substrate to protect against any future cracks in the finished floor and ready to accept the finished system.
- Once the floor had been primed our team returned to install the Sikafloor Multiflex PS-37 UV system, the structure of this system was Sikafloor 1590 as a primer, Sikafloor BC 375 as a wearing coat, and then Sikafloor 305W as the topcoat.
- This system provides good resistance to UV exposure, chemicals and crack-bridging ability, as well as a stunning finish and a soft underfoot feel.
Project Overview
This project was completed for a well known motorsport team that required a first class floor and our team delivered just that, great job by everyone involved.
"“I just wanted to say thank you for a great job, everyone is thrilled how this has turned out.”"
